LETTER TO MY FELLOW YOUTHS

My dear friends,
I am just coming from a rather boring weekend, having done very little worth talking about apart from a quick online chat with a friend in another part of the world. Well, this besides the point.

I thought i should write this letter to all my friends because i feel it may help one or two colleagues of mine out there.

Many a time we have found ourselves working at something, planning and building all our hopes and working really hard to achieve something. We have almost always given up on anything else just to make sure our focus is not disturbed by whatever we know we can have control over. After working so hard, so tirelessly, we have almost got to where we have wanted, where we feel almost satisfied. However, at this very moment, we are faced with new and somewhat difficult challenges. Some of these are so difficult that they make us all despair and leave us frustrated. For some, this marks the beginning of the end to their fight. They become disillusioned, humiliated, disorientated and are left vulnerable to a lot of scorn and manipulation. Unfortunately, most people, my fellow youths, are victims of such circumstances. This is the group am addressing my letter to.

There is a famous phrase that "the darkest hour comes before dawn" this, my friends, is not just an ordinary phrase. Its a very useful phrase and i would like to encourage you to remember this all the time you are faced with demoralizing situations. B.C Forbes once said "He who has faith has... an inward reservoir of courage, hope, confidence, calmness, and assuring trust that all will come out well - even though to the world it may appear to come out most badly". It should therefore be borne in your mind that for every fight that you start as an individual, you and only you knows the outcome of that fight; you're the driver on a journey to your own destination. What the outside world thinks about your journey is not as important. This does not however mean that you should never listen to advice, it means that you should stay focused all the time!

It is important to realise that the moment the intensity of your challenges increases, the very moment you are about to say 'its over, its never gonna happen' that is the very moment you should know that one more 'little extra' effort you will 'get there'. Good things come to those who wait. But this does not mean you wait and do nothing...fight on with every last bit of your energy. Persist and persevere without relenting. Your reward awaits you on the other side. Discouragements come from all angles; friends, family, etc. The fight and benefits are all yours, fight on.

I will end my letter with a reminder from Wilson E.O "You are capable of more than you know. Choose a goal that seems right for you and strive to be the best, however hard the path. Aim high. Behave honorably. Prepare to be alone at times, and to endure failure. Persist! The world needs all you can give.

With all my hope and persistence,

Lucky

  1. For sure, the fight is ours and ours alone.
If we all think like this, we'd achieve our dreams. We're almost all the times discouraged by many factors but we forget that the darkest hour comes right before dawn.

  2. It is with great pleassure that i write to echo sentiments from the author of the above post. I had an experience and i was breaking down...i stood firm and fought on, it didn't take along time, i was above all the things i once thouht were insurmountable. Persistence, perseverence and hope are inevitable attributes! We need to fight on!
