Chinese shooters jump bail! "Police Intensify manhut"

Police in Southern Province has intensified the manhunt for Collum Coal Mine managers Xiao Li Shan, 48, and Wu Jiu Hua, 46 who yesterday failed to show up at the Choma magistrate court.

Police are also looking for the two Zambian citizens who signed as sureties for the foreign investors who jumped bail. The two Chinese nationals are facing twelve counts of attempted murder after they opened fire at protesting Collum Coal miners in Sinazongwe district last year.

Police spokesperson Ndandula Siamana confirmed that the Chinese managers eschewed proceedings at Choma magistrate court and said police had launched a manhunt for the culprits while arrest warrants had been issued against the two Zambians who were sureties in the bail.

“I can confirm that the Zambia police received a bench warrant today for the two Chinese managers at Collum Coal Mine in Sinazongwe, Southern Province who were supposed to appear in the courts of law yesterday but they never showed up.”

“The other two we are looking for are the people who signed their bail, we are just making an appeal to them to avail themselves either to police or to court.”And the ministry of Foreign Affairs has clarified that the two who signed bail for the Chinese managers were not diplomats but Zambians citizens.

Magistrate Jacob Mbolela was quoted by the International media as saying arrest warrants had been issued for two Chinese diplomats who signed the bail papers for the Chinese managers.
